YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – It’s not quite Halloween, but Second Harvest Food Bank is getting ready for next month’s big holiday.

Friday, the food bank held a Thanksgiving food drive alongside Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus at the Covelli Centre. The first 100 people who donated five Thanksgiving food staples got free tickets to the circus next month. The food bank held a Thanksgiving food drive alongside Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus at the Covelli Centre

“This is a tremendous effort. It not only helps feed families in the Mahoning Valley, but it gives an opportunity for families who may not be able to purchase tickets to see this great show here in Youngstown,” said Becky Miller, manager of resource development at Second Harvest Food Bank.

The fun with the circus isn’t over Friday.

Ringling Bros. plans to treat 100 kindergarten through fourth grade students enrolled in the Success After Six program to an afternoon of circus fun.
