WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – An argument between neighbors escalated into threats with a knife and a gun being fired Wednesday afternoon, according to Warren police.

Around 2 p.m., several witnesses called 911, saying they heard gunshots in the 1500 block of Palmyra Road.

When officers arrived, a man was standing in his driveway with 35-year-old Amber Jones. Police said they live in the same building, but in two separated apartments.

They said Jones was visibly upset, claiming the man shot at her. She later said that he actually fired the gun at the ground, according to police, who found two holes in the blacktop from the bullets.

The man told officers that the argument started when Jones pulled her car into his garage. He said he told her to move, but she became angry and spat at him.

Police said they started shoving each other and Jones threw a lamp, which officers found shattered in the driveway, at him.

He said he fired the gun when Jones went back inside and came out with a knife, threatening and coming toward him.

Jones admitted to throwing the lamp and coming out with a knife, but said the man slapped her first.

She was taken to Trumbull County Jail and charged with assault.
