Firemen’s Boot Drive to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley

The event will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Six local fire departments will participate in the annual Handel’s Koins for Kids Firemen’s Boot Drive on Saturday.

The event will benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, and will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Handel’s Koins for Kids campaign has raised more than $230,000 for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley. The campaign is comprised of the Firemen’s Boot Drive, corporate partners and local schools collecting coins throughout the holiday season to help local children in need.

Participating Firemen’s Boot Drive locations include the following intersections:

  • Youngstown and Austintown Fire Departments – Canfield Rd. and Meridian Rd.
  • Struthers Fire Department – Creed St. and Youngstown-Poland Rd.
  • Boardman Fire Department – South Ave. and Mathews Rd.
  • Canfield Fire Department – Shields Rd. and State Route 46
  • Warren Fire Department – Market St. and High St.

The school portion of the campaign begins the first week of December and goes through Dec. 9.
