LOUISVILLE, Ohio (WYTV) – With four seconds remaining on the clock, Andrew Jenkins booted an 18-yard field goal through the uprights to give St. Thomas Aquinas the lead and the 21-18 win over Lisbon in a game which will be talked about for quite some time by those who were there.

Midway through the third quarter, Jason Thompson rumbled 10-yards to paydirt to give the Blue Devils a 9-point lead (12-3). Back came St. Thomas Aquinas, Nathan Rich runs in his first of two scores from a year out as Jenkins kicks the extra point to close the gap to 12-10 with 4:35 remaining in the third frame. Rich again runs hard – this time from 37-yards out – to give the Knights’ a 6-point advantage after Jarryd Palek’s two-point conversion.
Late in the fourth quarter, Thompson scores on his second touchdown to tie the game at 18 (just over a minute to play). The Blue Devils’ decide to go for two and a completed pass failed to get into the endzone leaving the scored tied at 18.
Nathan Rich closed out the contest with 141 yards rushing on 27 attempts.
During the regular season, the Knights finished with an 8-2 mark with their two setbacks coming by a combined score of 4 points (Week 3: loss to Marlington, 20-17; Week 10: loss to Warren JFK, 28-27 in overtime).
Lisbon had won their previous five contests since falling to South Range in week five (55-8). Thompson scored multiple touchdowns in seven of the Devils’ eleven games this season. He finished the game with 64 yards on 14 rushes. Lisbon’s quarterback Colin Sweeney ran for 147 yards and threw for another 75 while completing 3 of 4.
