YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – On Sunday, the Youngstown Model Railroad Association opened its doors to non-members for the 59th straight year.
Guests could see two floors of trains in the “O” and “H-O” scale categories, traveling 100-scale miles of track.
Organizers said that plenty of people came to see the trains and they hoped to give a good show.
“We get very good crowds — people are still interested in seeing trains,” said James Pope, president of the Railroad Association. “We’ve done a lot of work on the layouts — we have done a lot on the lighting to try to create a theater-type atmosphere.”
The Youngstown Model Railroad Association is hosting four more open house days this year: Nov. 12 and 13 and Dec. 3 and 4, from noon-6 p.m.
Cost is $4 per person and children under 11 years old are free with an adult.
