LORDSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Students and veterans gathered Monday at Lordstown High School for the annual “Take a Vet to School Day” assembly.

More than 30 veterans were in attendance for the program. The students invited them to share their stories, and they gave them thanks for their service.

Students said they learned a lot from the assembly.

“We really see what they’ve done for our country and how much they’ve sacrificed for us, and I think that’s really important,” said senior Maya Kresic.

“Our World War II vets are passing away, and there’s a lot to tell about what they’ve done for our country, and it gives the students an idea of what happened,” said U.S. Army Veteran William Catlin.

Veterans Day is this Friday. You can find a full list of Veterans Day events here.
