Home Savings donated $40,000 to the United Way's Success After 6 program.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The United Way of the Mahoning Valley received a $40,000 donation from Home Savings Bank Thursday.

The money will go to the United Way’s Success After 6 program, which provides after-school programs for children at Youngstown Community School.

Home Savings says the program helps kids want to learn, and it wants that to continue.

“The results have been very good. You can see the children make progress from year to year,” said Home Savings Mahoning Valley Regional President Frank Hierro. “We’ve been observing, monitoring, participating, volunteering for a number of years. We can just see the momentum building. It’s been tremendous progress.”

Hierro says Home Savings has been donating to the United Way for several years and plans on continuing the relationship.
