YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Mahoning County District Board of Health met Wednesday to discuss water testing, flu shots, expense and grants.

Planned Parenthood is one of four organizations getting $1,200 grants as part of the Maternal and Child Health Program. Planned Parenthood is also getting funding from the Board of Health for its My Baby’s Number One Medicaid Program.

The organization will get a total of $234,857 in one year, divided up and paid quarterly. The board says the money spent will be monitored.

The funds are expected to be used to hire two community health workers and one supervisor. The money will also go to training, medical supplies and any extra costs that Planned Parenthood may have.
