VIENNA, Ohio (WYTV) – A Cortland man was sent to the hospital and is facing OVI charges after crashing into a guardrail on State Route 11 in Trumbull County.

Raymond Warzala, 39, was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, where he was listed in serious condition following the crash. A Cortland man was sent to the hospital and is facing OVI charges after crashing into a guardrail on State Route 11 in Trumbull County.

The accident happened on Route 11 north, near the State Route 82 split in Vienna.

Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers say shortly before midnight, Warzala went off the left side of the road and hit a guardrail. They say when rescue crews arrived, no one was inside the vehicle.

They later found Warzala after he had called his family members, telling them he was hurt and laying in the woods nearby.

Investigators say he had significant injuries and believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
