Comprehensive Logistics in Austintown announces layoffs

The company filed a WARN notice, announcing the layoffs on November 18

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – An Austintown company that provided parts-shipping services to General Motors Lordstown Complex is laying off workers, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice (WARN) Act filed November 18.

Comprehensive Logistics, located on Victoria Road in Austintown, did not indicate the number of employees that will be affected but said it would be “a significant portion of its workforce.” The layoffs will be January 23, according to the WARN notice.

WYTV contacted Comprehensive Logistics earlier this month after General Motors Lordstown Complex announced that it would be suspending its third shift of production indefinitely. A representative of Comprehensive Logistics could not be reached Friday morning, and it is unclear at this time whether GM’s decision prompted the layoffs.
