Vice Unit raids Youngstown home, charges man with drug possession

Police said the suspect matched the description of someone who had reportedly been selling drugs from the home.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A raid of a home by the Youngstown Police Department’s Vice Unit netted heroin, fentanyl and other drugs, police said.

Officers with a warrant searched a home in the 100 block of Millet Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said a bag containing an unknown brown powder was found in the home, as well as a digital scale with drug residue, handgun and $300 in cash found in a suitcase.

Police arrested 18-year-old Ricky Hodges, who they said had a bag of crack cocaine, two Tramadol pills, two pieces of paper containing fentanyl and one bag of heroin in his wallet.

Hodges matched the description of a man selling drugs at the home, according to a police report.

Hodges was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Youngstown Municipal Court on Friday morning, and bond was set at $18,500.

A preliminary hearing was set for 1:30 p.m. December 1.
