BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – Saturday, Nov. 26 is Small Business Saturday, a day set aside for people to shop and support small local businesses.
Many local businesses will be open and selling some of their products at discounted prices.
Branch Street Coffee Roasters is a Boardman coffee shop where people can enjoy a nice, warm cup of coffee.
“We’re specialty coffee roasters, so we take coffee from around the world and roast it in house, here, so it’s as fresh as it can possibly be when we serve it. What that does is give you the maximum flavor and allows us to adapt the roasts so we’re getting the best flavor out of the coffee,” said shop owner Matt Campbell.
Branch Street Coffee Roasters is located at 1393 Boardman-Canfield Road and open Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Inside the coffee shop are other local vendors selling their craft items. One vendor is Chisel.Me.Timbers by Davey Jones.
His set-up in the shop consists of hand-turned wood items like coffee scoops, bottle openers, bottle stoppers, wooden bowls and razors.
Another vendor selling items in Branch Street Coffee Roasters is The Shop on Liberty Street.
The artisan collaborative and cafe is located at 20 W. Liberty Street in Hubbard. The store sells handmade goods and serves Branch Street Coffee.
Owner Marissa Devantier is asking people to use the #shopsmallyo on social media to create awareness for other businesses in the community and to be able to give customers the chance to explore new businesses.
Another great place to shop is Ivory and Birch, located at 7631 Market Street in Boardman.
This women’s boutique is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers unique gifts for women, men and babies. It also sells fine jewelry, fashion jewelry and home decor.
“I really think that a community is only as strong as its small businesses and we’re really lucky around here to have wonderful restaurants, bakeries, boutiques, stores and even grocery stores that are local. So, I really encourage everybody and I try whenever I can to shop local,” said boutique owner Deloran Muransky.
