YSU fans excited after Penguins’ first playoff win in 10 years

Youngstown State beat Samford, 38-24, Saturday at Stambaugh Stadium

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – So how are the Youngstown State faithful feeling after Saturday night’s 38-24 playoff win against Samford?

Reporter Lindsey Watson caught up with fans outside of Stambaugh Stadium as they began to file out.

“Awesome,” Patty Sosnowski said. “Great job by [head coach] Bo Pelini and his kids, it’s amazing!”

“We’re gonna win it all this year!” Bob O’Neil said.

“If the defense and offense pulls it together, I think we’ll be back!” Ashley Joseph said.

“They didn’t make mistakes,” David Feldman said. “That’s what you gotta do and we did it!”

It was the first time in 10 years that the Penguins played in a postseason game.

YSU (9-3) will travel to Jacksonville State next Saturday for a 2 p.m. contest.
