Video: Niles PD releases surveillance footage of robbery suspect

NILES, Ohio (WYTV) – Police in Niles are still looking for the suspect in Monday’s armed robbery at Instant Cash for Gold & Diamonds.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday at the store on Route 422.

Surveillance video shows the suspect walk into the store, point what appears to be a gun at an employee and direct him to the back of the store, where he’s handed a bank bag. The man then takes off running.

He is described as a white man between 6’0″ and 6’3″ who was wearing a red and gray striped hoodie with a patch on the left side, jeans and dark tennis shoes.

Investigators hope someone will be able to identify the suspect.

“He’s wearing kind of a distinctive garment, so somebody may see that and realize, ‘Hey, I know a guy who has that same hoodie,'” Capt. John Marshall said.

Anyone who recognizes the man should call the department at 330-652-9944.
