YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Youngstown Flea moved indoors Saturday for the first Holiday Flea.
More than 50 vendors packed DeYor Performing Arts Center in downtown Youngstown with Christmas decorations like wreaths, pillows and candles.
“There’s all kind of data that tells us when you shop local, those dollars stay here longer,” said Derrick McDowell of the Youngstown Flea. “But more importantly than that is when you give that small business owner an opportunity to thrive longer, they commit to their community longer.”
“I feel like they have they have the personal touch,” said Melanie Ritchie of Karma Korn Poppery. “I get to meet so many people and run into so many old friends. I love the fact that anybody would support the local businesses.”
This was the last Youngstown Flea event of the year, but plans are already in the works for more events in 2017.
