Both lanes open following semi fire on I-76 in Jackson Twp.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WYTV) – Both lanes of Interstate 76 have reopened following a tractor-trailer fire Tuesday morning.

The incident happened about 3:40 a.m. on I-76 between Bailey Road and Route 45.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the driver pulled to the side of the road due to a possible brake fire. He was able to detach the cab from the trailer, which became engulfed in flames.

The truck was hauling Amazon goods, according to the driver. The trailer and its contents are a total loss.

No injuries were reported.

Jackson Township, Austintown Township and Lordstown fire departments assisted.
