WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – Detectives in Warren are investigating two separate Friday night shootings on the city’s west side.
The first happened just after 9 p.m. on Stewart Drive, the second around Hamilton Street just before midnight.
“I was very scared,” said a neighbor from the first shooting on Stewart. “Like, I didn’t know if they were gonna shoot at the house, because I was standing in the doorway.”
Investigators believe shots were fired between two cars on Stewart Drive. They took off in opposite directions, but police later found one of the cars involved on a nearby street.
Two people were treated at St. Joe’s for gunshot wounds.
The neighbors who spoke that live on Stewart Drive say Friday night’s shooting leaves them on edge.
“Just yelling at first,” a neighbor said. “Then all of a sudden ‘pop pop pop pop pop’ — like six shots — and it scared me.”
“I know the crime ain’t gonna stop, but I just hope it stays away from this neighborhood,” another neighbor said. “Because this is a quiet neighborhood.”
Police were tipped off to the second shooting near Hamilton Street by hospital staff at Trumbull Memorial. A man showed up to the ER with a gunshot wound just before midnight.
All of the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police have no suspects and have not made any arrests in either case.
