Salem’s Second Saturday brings sweet new deals to the area

The goal is to support local businesses and the historic part of downtown Salem

Salem's Second Saturday

SALEM, Ohio (WYTV) – Salem hopes to bring extra business to their downtown area with a new tradition.

The Downtown Salem Partnership (DSP) — an organization made of businesses and community members — partnered with the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce to create Salem’s Second Saturday.

The goal is to promote the idea of shopping locally.

This month’s theme — Sweet on Salem.

Many businesses in the area will offer Valentine’s Day specials, activities, added services and discounts to celebrate.

“It’s a proud community and there’s a lot of history and charm in the buildings downtown, and people working hard to bring their craft to the public. Highlighting something that is important for DSP,” said Ben Ratner, co-owner of Lib’s Market.

The next event will be held on March 10 with the theme “Women of Salem” to celebrate women who make a difference.
