BOARDMAN, Ohio (WYTV) – The 40th annual Mahoning Valley St. Patrick’s Day Parade took place in Boardman on Sunday.
The theme this year was “40 years of Irish Pride.”
This year’s Grand Marshall was Pete Gabriel, who was instrumental in starting up the parade 40 years ago.
Thousands of people from all around the area took part in the event — in marching bands, on floats or on the sidelines. Trophies for “Best of Parade” and “Best Irish Theme” were given out.
The parade began on McClurg Avenue, headed down Market Street and finished at Southing Place.
Total attendance is usually around 25,000 people.
